Oct. 11 marked the 50th anniversary of the completion of the Yukon River bridge. The bridge was an instant game-changer for Alaska, work on the North Slope, and access to TAPS, as well as for Alaskans and visitors who work, live, hunt, fish and explore in the Arctic.
