Melanie Osborne
Chief Health, Safety, Environment and Compliance Officer
Melanie Osborne serves as Alyeska’s Chief HSEC Officer, leading health and safety, environment, regulatory compliance, management systems, and documentation. She joined Alyeska’s Legal department in June 2023 before transitioning to her current role in April 2025.
Melanie has deep roots on TAPS. Her family moved to Valdez during pipeline construction in the 1970s, and her father worked on TAPS for over 35 years. She began working on TAPS at 18 as a laborer and later supported TAPS operations through her work with Alaska Native Corporations. Prior to Alyeska, Melanie spent over 20 years working with tribal organizations, including as an executive at three ANCSA Regional Corporations, leading the legal and other administrative functions.
Melanie is active in several nonprofits, including the Exceptional Women Alliance and Covenant House Alaska. She currently chairs The Nature Conservancy of Alaska Board and serves on the Alaska Legal Services Corporation Board. She holds degrees in Psychology and Justice from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Washington School of Law.
