VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE

Longtime Alyeska employee Klint VanWingerden was elevated to the position of Alyeska Vice President, Operations & Maintenance, in July 2026. Klint is responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient maintenance and operations of the pipeline and of its facilities, including pump stations and marine terminal assets from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez. He also leads the TAPS Operations Control Center and emergency preparedness and response functions along the pipeline corridor and in Prince William Sound. He supervises a team of Alyeska directors in operations, maintenance, and emergency preparedness and response.

Klint’s Alyeska career spans positions in engineering and operations and illustrates enterprise-level Operations & Maintenance (O&M) accountability. He has held roles of increasing responsibility, starting as an Automation Engineer and transitioning to O&M Engineering Manager, Galbraith Maintenance Base (Pump Station 3-Pump Station 6) Area Manager, Operations Director, Valdez Marine Terminal O&M Director, Pipeline Director, and most recently Vice President, Operations & Maintenance on a Temporary Special Assignment beginning in April 2025.

Klint comes from a family of Alaska pipeline workers and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, with minors in Mathematics and Physics, from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He is a proud alum of the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program and enjoys speaking to students of all ages about his work and STEM career opportunities. He loves spending time with his family, especially in Alaska’s outdoors, and is a veteran racer in the grueling Iron Dog snowmobile race across Alaska.
