How did you feel when you heard you won this award?
Absolutely shocked! I had no idea I was even nominated for an Atigun Award let alone Contractor of the Year. Truly an honor to receive this award.
What is your favorite part of your job?
The favorite part of my job is the diversity of it. One day I may be operating an excavator building a revetment, the next I’ll be air-boating down the Koyukuk River on a ROW deployment. Every day is different and brings new challenges.
Do you have a favorite day on TAPS? Tell us about it!
My favorite day on TAPS was when my son Jerry came to work for me at PS04 as a fresh-faced laborer straight out of high school back in 2015. TAPS is truly about family and being able to bring my son onboard and work with me was very special.
Is there anyone you’d like to recognize who has helped you along the way or supports your work?
I would like to thank my baseline crew Jason Comins and Norman Kohler for the help and support I receive daily. This may be an individual award, but it is Teamwork that made it happen.
