2024 AFN TAPS spotlight: Alyeska’s Shops Team

Each year at the Alaska Federation of Natives, Alyeska and Alaska Native Program (ANP) leadership provides an update on Alyeska’s Section 29 commitments by spotlighting Alaska Native employees with special video stories. This year, we featured Alyeska’s Shops Maintenance team, which plays a significant role in some of the pipeline’s most critical work.

This team is among the many ANUA success stories on TAPS, the result of investments made by Alyeska and ANP, including scholarships, internships and other opportunities to thrive in careers that are technical and professional, and offer a path to leadership roles. Many hail from the Interior, and because of their pipeline jobs and shift schedules, they are able to find excellent careers close to their regions and families.

This hardworking, tightknit group also prides itself on watching out for each other for success and safety in their important work. And they view themselves as family, often spending as much time with one another as they do with their own family members. They are inspiring one another, as well as the next generation of pipeline workers and Alaska leaders by sharing their stories and the opportunities available through Alyeska’s ANP.
